गौरवं प्राप्यते दानात् न तु वित्तस्य सञ्चयात्।
स्थितिरुच्चै: पयोदानां पयोधीनामध: स्थिति:॥

gauravaṃ prāpyate dānāt na tu vittasya sañcayāt।
sthitiruccai: payodānāṃ payodhīnāmadha: sthiti:॥

No glory is obtained by accumulating but it is obtained by giving. The clouds that give rain are positioned up in the sky, whereas the seas that only collect water are seated below on the earth.
